In <strong>Xihan Dynasty\uff08\u897f\u6c49:X\u012bh&agrave;n\uff09<\/strong>, the Nanchang official<strong> Meifu\uff08\u6885\u798f\uff1aM&eacute;i F&uacute;\uff09<\/strong> gave up his office and lived in seclusion on the hill. People changed the name into the Meiling in order to show respect to him.<\/p>\n<p>  \tThere are a lot of scenic spots on the hill. Inside 150 square km, there are the <strong>Meixian Terrace\uff08\u6885\u4ed9\u53f0\uff1aM&eacute;ixi\u0101nt&aacute;i\uff09<\/strong>, <strong>the Luohan Hill\uff08\u7f57\u6c49\u5cad\uff1a<\/strong><strong>Lu&oacute;h&agrave;nl\u01d0n\u0261\uff09<\/strong>, <strong>the Lion Peak\uff08\u72ee\u5b50\u5cf0\uff1aSh\u012bzif\u0113n\u0261\uff09<\/strong>, <strong>the Ciyang Hill\uff08\u7d2b\u9633\u5c71\uff1aZ\u01d0y&aacute;n\u0261sh\u0101n\uff09<\/strong>,<strong> the Wind and Rain Pond\uff08\u4e91\u96e8\u53f0\uff1aY&uacute;ny\u01d4t&aacute;i\uff09<\/strong>and etc. Among them, <strong>the Hongya Danjing\uff08\u6d2a\u5d16\u4e39\u4e95\uff1aH&oacute;n\u0261y&aacute; D\u0101nj\u01d0n\u0261\uff09<\/strong> and <strong>the Xishan Jicui\uff08\u897f\u5c71\u79ef\u7fe0\uff1aX\u012bsh\u0101n J\u012bcu&igrave;\uff09<\/strong> have already list into ten good scenic spots in ancient Jiangxi.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>  \tNanchang was called <strong>Hongzhou\uff08\u6d2a\u5dde\uff1aH&oacute;n\u0261zh\u014du\uff09 <\/strong>or <strong>Hongdu\uff08\u6d2a\u90fd\uff1aH&oacute;n\u0261d\u016b\uff09<\/strong>, related to the name of Hongya Danjing. There are a lot of mountains in the Meiling full of plum blossoms and bamboos. Not only beautiful scenery is distributing everywhere, but also temples are standing like a forest.<\/p>\n<p>  \tThere are a lot of Confucian temples and Taoist altars. The most famous is the Cuiyan Temple. Originally there was a copper statue of Sakyamuni with the height of 5 meters in this temple, very famous.<\/p>\n<p>  \tIn <strong>South and North Dynasty\uff08\u5357\u5317\u671d\uff1aN&aacute;nb\u011bich&aacute;o\uff09<\/strong>, the emperor of <strong>South Tang Dynasty\uff08\u5357\u5510\uff1aN&aacute;nt&aacute;n\u0261\uff09<\/strong> <strong>Lijing\uff08\u674e\u749f\uff1aL\u01d0 J\u01d0n\u0261\uff09<\/strong> was familiar with the pontiff of this temple and he often came here to consult about affairs. After Meifu, the famous people such as <strong>Gehong\uff08\u845b\u6d2a\uff1aG\u011b H&oacute;n\u0261\uff09<\/strong> in <strong>West Jin Dynasty\uff08\u897f\u664b\uff1aX\u012bj&igrave;n\uff09<\/strong>, and Guanxiu in <strong>Tang Dyansty\uff08\u5510\u4ee3\uff1aT&aacute;n\u0261d&agrave;i\uff09<\/strong> all once came here to live in seclusion.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<p>  \tThe Taoists called the Meiling as the 12th Cave. There are still the Xiangcheng Temple, the Yuntang Temple, the Dragon Temple, the Yunxi Temple, the Peace Guan, the Xuzhen Guan, the Ziyang Palace and so forth.<\/p>\n<p>  \tIn summer the average temperature in the Meiling is about 24 degree, so the Meiling is a good place to have a summer holiday and travel. The famous ministers of Tang Dynasty Zhang Jiuling and Wang Anshi, the ministers of Song Dynasty Zhou Bida, Ou Yangxiu and Huang Tingjian and so on who had once traveled here left many poems and creations admiring the Meiling.<\/p>\n<p>  \tIn recent years, the beautiful landscapes on the whole hill are still constantly uncovered and developed.
