People’s Republic of China
The People’s Republic of China (PRC) (zh\u014dng huá rén mín gong hé guó \u4e2d\u534e\u4eba\u6c11\u5171\u548c\u56fd) commo<\/em>nly known as China, is the largest country in East Asia and the most populous in the world with over 1.3 billion people, approximately one-fifth of the world’s population. It is a socialist republic (specifically a people’s democratic dictatorship according to its constitution) ruled by the Communist Party of China (zh\u014dng guó gòng ch\u01cen d\u01ceng \u4e2d\u56fd\u5171\u4ea7\u515a) under a single-party system, and has jurisdiction over twenty-two provinces, five auto<\/em>nomous regions, which are Xinjiang (x\u012bn ji\u0101ng \u65b0\u7586), Inner Mo<\/em>ngolia (nèi m\u011bng g\u01d4 \u5185\u8499\u53e4), Tibet (x\u012b zàng \u897f\u85cf), Ningxia (níng xià \u5b81\u590f), and Guangxi (gu\u01ceng x\u012b \u5e7f\u897f); four municipalities, which are Beijing (b\u011bi j\u012bng \u5317\u4eac), Tianjin (ti\u0101n j\u012bn \u5929\u6d25), Shanghai (shàng h\u01cei \u4e0a\u6d77), and Cho<\/em>ngqing (chóng qìng \u91cd\u5e86); and two highly auto<\/em>nomous Special Administrative Regions (tè bié xíng zhèng q\u016b \u7279\u522b\u884c\u653f\u533a), which are Hong Kong (xi\u0101ng g\u01ceng \u9999\u6e2f) and Macau (ào mén \u6fb3\u95e8).<\/p>\n

During the early years of People’s Republic of China, she take part in the War to Resist U.S. Aggression and Aid Korea (kàng m\u011bi yuán cháo \u6297\u7f8e\u63f4\u671d) and then there came the land reform (t\u01d4 dì g\u01cei gé \u571f\u5730\u6539\u9769), which has co<\/em>nsolidated the power of people’s democratic dictatorship and revive the natio<\/em>nal economy.<\/p>\n

By 1956, China has fundamentally set up socialist system, and entered into the era of the primary stage of socialism.<\/p>\n

China has made a great progress in socialist co<\/em>nstruction and laid a solid material foundation for the modernization drive. However, there were mistakes of impetuosity and premature advance, such as the Great Leap Forward (dà yuè jìn \u5927\u8dc3\u8fdb), the movement to establish people’s communes (rén mín g\u014dng shè huà yùn dòng \u4eba\u6c11\u516c\u793e\u5316\u8fd0\u52a8), and even made a serious overall mistake which is Cultural Revolution (wén huà dà gé mìng \u6587\u5316\u5927\u9769\u547d).<\/p>\n

After the Third Plenary Session of the 11th Central Committee (shí y\u012b jiè s\u0101n zh\u014dng quán huì \u5341\u4e00\u5c4a\u4e09\u4e2d\u5168\u4f1a), China has entered into a new era by carrying out opening up and reform, which is a great turning point in history. The Communist Party in China has determined the way of developing which is building socialism with Chinese characteristics, with Deng Xiaoping Theory (dèng xi\u01ceo píng l\u01d0 lùn \u9093\u5c0f\u5e73\u7406\u8bba) as the fundamental guarantee.<\/p>\n

New look of the rural area in ChinaSince the market-ba<\/em>sed eco<\/em>nomic reforms in 1978, China has become one of the world’s fastest growing eco<\/em>nomies and the world’s second largest exporter and the third largest im<\/em>porter of goods. Rapid industrialization has reduced its poverty rate from 53% in 1981 to 8% in 2001.<\/p>\n

New look of urban area in China after the reform and opening upWith its development, China has been of great im<\/em>portance in the world today, which is reflected through its role as the world’s third largest eco<\/em>nomy nominally (or second largest by PPP) and a permanent member of the UN Security Council as well as being a member of several other multilateral organizations including the WTO, APEC, East Asia Summit, and Shanghai Cooperation Organization. In addition, it is a recognized nuclear weapons state and has the world’s largest standing army with the second largest defense budget.<\/p>\n

      \u4e2d\u56fd\u5171\u4ea7\u515a\u5341\u4e00\u5c4a\u4e09\u4e2d\u5168\u4f1a\u540e\uff0c\u6211\u56fd\u5b9e\u73b0\u4e86\u5386\u53f2\u6027\u7684\u4f1f\u5927\u8f6c\u6298\uff0c\u8fdb\u5165\u4e86\u6539\u9769\u5f00\u653e\u548c\u793e\u4f1a\u4e3b\u4e49\u73b0\u4ee3\u5316\u5efa\u8bbe\u7684\u65b0\u65f6\u671f\u3002\u4e2d\u56fd\u5171\u4ea7\u515a\u5728\u5b9e\u8df5\u4e2d\u9010\u6b65\u627e\u5230\u4e86\u5efa\u8bbe\u6709\u4e2d\u56fd\u7279\u8272\u793e\u4f1a\u4e3b\u4e49\u7684\u9053\u8def\u3002\u9093\u5c0f\u5e73\u7406\u8bba\u6307\u5bfc\u5730\u4f4d\u7684\u786e\u7acb\uff0c\u6210\u4e3a\u4e2d\u56fd\u5b9e\u73b0\u793e\u4f1a\u4e3b\u4e49\u73b0\u4ee3\u5316\u7684\u6839\u672c\u4fdd\u8bc1\u3002<\/p>\n

\u65b0\u4e2d\u56fd\u6210\u7acb\u4ee5\u6765\uff0c\u6211\u56fd\u5728\u7ecf\u6d4e\u5efa\u8bbe\u3001\u6c11\u4e3b\u6cd5\u5236\u3001\u79d1\u5b66\u6280\u672f\u3001\u56fd\u9632\u5efa\u8bbe\u3001\u6c11\u65cf\u56e2\u7ed3\u3001\u6587\u5316\u6559\u80b2\u3001\u5bf9\u5916\u4ea4\u5f80\u5404\u65b9\u9762\u53d6\u5f97\u663e\u8457\u6210\u5c31\u3002\u6211\u56fd\u7efc\u5408\u56fd\u529b\u4e0d\u65ad\u63d0\u9ad8\uff0c\u56fd\u5bb6\u65e5\u76ca\u7e41\u8363\u5bcc\u5f3a\uff0c\u4eba\u6c11\u751f\u6d3b\u660e\u663e\u6539\u5584\u3002“\u4e00\u56fd\u4e24\u5236”\u7531\u6784\u60f3\u53d8\u4e3a\u73b0\u5b9e\uff0c\u7956\u56fd\u548c\u5e73\u7edf\u4e00\u5927\u4e1a\u53d6\u5f97\u5386\u53f2\u6027\u8fdb\u5c55\u3002
