M: \u90a3\u53ea\u732b\u6454\u5230\u4e86\u5730\u4e0a\u3002\u6454 SHUAI shu\u0101i, 1st tone, means ‘to fall’, ‘tumble’, shu\u0101i. shu\u0101i dàole dìshang. \u5730 DI here means ‘ground’. Shu\u0101i dàole dàshang, literally, fell to ground on. Remember, the little le at the end signifies completion. So what does ‘nèi zh\u012b m\u0101o shu\u0101i dàole dìshàng’ mean? Duìle. The cat fell to the ground.<\/p>\n

S: Now say, the panda fell to the ground. A clue. Panda in Chinese is ‘xióngm\u0101o’, just add a ‘xióng’ in front of ‘m\u0101o’.<\/p>\n

M: H\u011bnh\u011bo. \u90a3\u53ea\u718a\u732b\u6454\u5230\u4e86\u5730\u4e0a\u3002Nàzh\u012b xióngm\u0101o shu\u0101i dàole dìshang.<\/p>\n

S: And I said, \u90a3\u4e24\u53ea\u5927\u72d7\u8dd1\u4e86\u51fa\u6765p\u01ceole ch\u016blái. \u8dd1PAO p\u01ceo, means ‘to run’, p\u01ceo. \u51fa\u6765 CHU LAI ch\u016b lái, ‘to come out’, ’emerge’. So what does nà li\u01ceng zh\u012b dà g\u01d2u p\u01ceole ch\u016blái mean? Méi cuò. The two big dogs ran out. Say it with me, nà li\u01ceng zh\u012b dà g\u01d2u p\u01ceole ch\u016blái.<\/p>\n

M: \u51fa\u6765 can be used on its own, as in \u4ed6\u51fa\u6765\u4e86 he, she or it came out, t\u0101 ch\u016b lái le.<\/p>\n

S: Like the q\u01d0lái in ‘jump up’, tiào q\u01d0lái, ch\u016blái is often used after another verb. For example, \u6211\u770b\u51fa\u6765\u4e86\uff0cI see, w\u01d2 kàn ch\u016bláile.<\/p>\n

S: Then, ránhòu, \u90a3\u53ea\u732b\u770b\u5230\u4e86\u90a3\u4e24\u53ea\u5927\u72d7. \u5b83\u60f3, \u5929\u554a\uff0c\u8fd9\u91cc\u592a\u5371\u9669\u4e86\u3002<\/p>\n

M: zhèl\u01d0 tài w\u0113ixi\u01cenle. \u5371\u9669 WEI XIAN w\u0113ixi\u01cen, means ‘danger’, ‘dangerous’ w\u0113ixi\u01cen.<\/p>\n

S: So, everybody cry out, ‘careful! That’s very dangerous. \u5c0f\u5fc3\uff0c\u90a3\u5f88\u5371\u9669! xi\u01ceox\u012bn, nà\u3000h\u011bn w\u0113ixi\u01cen. One more time, very loudly, xi\u01ceox\u012bn, nà h\u011bn w\u0113ixi\u01cen.<\/p>\n
