M: And for ‘under the chair’, we said \u5728\u6905\u5b50\u4e0b\u9762 zài y\u01d0zi xiàmian. In these simple phrases we don’t need to use the measure words. Remember that we usually use the measure word if we are referring to a specific thing, or a specific number.<\/p>\n

S: For example, I see three trees \u6211\u770b\u5230\u4e86\u4e09\u68f5\u6811 w\u01d2 kàn dào le s\u0101nk\u0113 shù.<\/p>\n

M: And if \u628a BA b\u01ce is the measure word for \u6905\u5b50 chair y\u01d0zi, how do we say, We have seven chairs? Méi cuò. \u6211\u4eec\u6709\u4e03\u628a\u6905\u5b50 w\u01d2men yòu q\u012b b\u01ce y\u01d0zi.<\/p>\n

S: And now say, That bread is good to eat. H\u011bn h\u01ceo. \u90a3\u5757\u9762\u5305\u597d\u5403 h\u01ceo ch\u012b good to eat\uff0ch\u01ceo ch\u012b.<\/p>\n

M: Now say, using \u597d\u770b, I am really good looking. Duìle. \u6211\u975e\u5e38\u597d\u770b w\u01d2 f\u0113icháng h\u01ceo kàn.<\/p>\n
