He was on the throne from 1402 to 1424. He was born in Yingtian Period, a time of strife, and he was later known as King Yan. He launched the Battle of Jingnan, attacked his nephew Emperor Jianwen, and seized the throne. After his death, his temple name was Taizong, although it was changed to Chengzu over one hundred years later by Zhu Houcong, Emperor Shizong of Ming.
