One of the most interesting haircut experiences you can have here in China is going to street barbers. These guys work here outside exposed to the elements and can charge a really cheap price because they don't have the overheads of running a shop. In fact, they don't have any overheads. The word for "eight" (八bā) sounds similar to the word which means "prosper" or "wealth" (發fā)– often paired with "發財" during Chinese New Years, but is used alone or paired with numerous other "compound words" that have a meaning of luck or success. In regional dialects the words for "eight" and "fortune" are also similar. Note as well, this particular symbol matches the mathematical symbol of infinity. While Chinese does have other words for luck, this full understanding of luck that includes the infinity concept marries into a Chinese understanding of this particular word.
动不动 dòngbudòng：often out of boredom
动不动 dòngbudòng：often out of boredom “动不动”比喻某种现象频繁发生(常含厌烦意),一般跟“就”连用。“dòngbudòng” means that a phenomenon occurs frequently (and often out of boredom). It is usually used with“就.”
