拆台 (chāitái) to obstruct; vandalize Usage:
“拆台”的本义是拆掉舞台。比喻故意破坏，使别 人或集体丧失权力或者使事情不能顺利进行。“拆台”是离合词，可以说“拆……的台”。“拆台” literally means to pull down the stage. It is a metaphor of purposely making a person or a community lose power or to obstruct one thing. This is a seperable word, and we can say “拆……的台”.

闺蜜 (guīmì) Confidante
Usage: 闺蜜，即“闺中密友”，即可以进入“闺房（古代女孩子居住的房间，一般不允许外人或男子进入）”的好朋友，是现代女性对女友的新称呼。她们是相互之间能够诉说衷肠的女性好友，彼此之间相互信任，相互依赖。“闺蜜”一般是女孩子的专属名词。"闺蜜" literally is the female friend who is allowed to enter a lady’s room (in ancient China, outsides or men were forbidden to enter young ladies’ room) . It indicates the person who is your confidential friend especially between women. They can share everything and believe each other. Initially the "闺蜜" usually refers to girls.

幕后 (mùhòu) behind the scenes;backstage Usage: “幕后”的本义是指舞台幕布的后边，比喻公开活动的后面，暗中。The original meaning of “幕后” is backstage. It’s a metaphor of directing something behind the scene.

Usage:
“绕弯子”比喻不照直说话，不直接把心中想说的话说出来，而通常先花时间说些其他的事情，最后再把自己想说的话说出来。“绕弯子(rào wānzi)”means to talk indirectly . People usually say something else before what they really want to say.

摊牌(tānpái)to have a showdown：lay one’s cards on the table
Usage: “摊牌”本义是打牌时把自己的牌全部亮出来。比喻在最后时刻向对方亮出自己的主张或底细，也比喻公开最后的决定。The original meaning of “摊牌”（ tānpái） is laying one’s cards on the table in card game. It is a metaphor of having a showdown at the last moment or making the final decision to the public.

见鬼 (jiànguǐ) absurd; damn; go to hell Usage: “见鬼”的字面意思是看见鬼。这个词有两个比喻义：一是比喻很奇怪，不符合情理；二是比喻毁灭，消亡。说话人常带有不满的语气。“见鬼”（ jiànguǐ ）literally means to see a ghost. It has two metaphorical meanings. The first one is absurd. The second one is to go the hell. The tone of the speaker is unsatisfied.
