Lesson 085 – Pay the Bill

Yajie:  Welcome to a brand new week on Chinese Studio.  Wo shi Yajie.
Cam:  Dajia hao, wo shi Cam.  Yajie, the bill paying system is so different in China.  A few weeks ago, my phone was disconnected because I hadn’t paid the bill.  But I never received a bill!
Yajie:  Well, in China, we have to pay the bills by a certain time at the bank without receiving any bill.
Cam:  I wish somebody would’ve told me!  But what do I say when I go to the bank?
Yajie:  Listen up!

Yajie:  Cam, you should be an expert now when ordering food in a Chinese restaurant.
Cam:  Yes, for the last couple of weeks on Chinese Studio, we’ve been learning how to order food, drinks, call the waiter or waitress over, and all sorts of useful expressions.  But now the meal is ending, I’m full and we need to wrap up the transaction.

Cam: Yajie, the best thing about China definitely has to be the food.  There are so many different cuisines, I feel like I have been eating non-stop since I got here.
YJ:  Yes, China is famous for its scrumptious food, and we are going to start a two-week long look at different foods and how to speak in a restaurant on our Chinese Studio.
