A guide to Pinyin traps and pitfalls: Learn Mandarin pronunciation
Learning to pronounce Chinese properly comes with a number of challenges, some of which all learners of foreign languages encounter. In general, we need to learn two things. First, we have to learn how to pronounce and distinguish sounds that don’t exist in our own language. It is only natural that we find this difficult sometimes. We also need to understand tones and intonation, both being quite different in Chinese and English. With practise and a good teacher, these challenges can be overcome.
The way on how to learn Chinese(tones)
Many things have changed since that distant 1988, and the number of foreign students coming to terms with the Chinese language and living in China has grown dramatically over the last 20 years. It is no longer unusual to come across a “wairen” (foreigner) in Mainland China. Yet, many students keep having problems when it comes to speaking Chinese, and this is mainly due to an aspect often considered “dramatic” from a Westerner’s perspective: Chinese tones.

Strawberry Day in China
Who don't know what a strawberry day is, it is a current term that I have put into creation(you can refer to something that someone has made as a creation, especially if it shows skill, imagination, or artistic ability) that refers to not a good but also not a bad day. You know, sometimes when you eat a strawberry it's nice and sweet, and some times when you eat them they're sour as can be, and sometimes you get one that's just in between sweet and sour, and it's just good enough to not spit out. That's what a strawberry day is, it's in between good and bad. And it just so happens that on this strawberry day, I went strawberry picking.
The souvenir which impresses me deeply 对我意义重大的纪念物
如果你拥有一样值得珍藏的东西,是一件很幸福的事。令我印象深刻的纪念物有两样,其中一样是棉被,这件棉被对我的意义重大,不单单只是一件让我暖和的东西,它里面有满满的爱心,是在我不懂事的时候,奶奶所送给我的第一件礼物,所以我一定要好好珍惜它。
If you have something to be cherished, you are really blessed. There are two souvenirs leaving me deepest impression. One is a quilt with cotton wadding which means a lot to me. It is not only a thing to keep me warm. It is a representation of love. It is the first present from my grandma when I was little. Therefore, I cherish it.
5 Lies Teachers Tell You About Mandarin Tones
Mandarin tones are one of the classic “difficult parts” of the language. Despite that, textbooks and teachers often do a bad job of teaching them. A big part of this is that the focus is too often on teaching tones, rather than teaching how to learn tones.
