Luckily, I got the chance to be their company and made an in-depth site inspection of the attractions in Guilin(桂林guìlín) City, such as the Elephant Trunk Hill, the Seven Star Park, the Reed Flute Cave, the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces and the Yao and Zhuang Ethnic Tribes in Longsheng, the Li River, and the West Street in the ancient town of Yangshuo(阳朔Yángshuò). To be honest, I have lived in Guilin for almost 8 years but still feel that it is just like an emerald waiting to be explored. So here, I would like to share what we have enjoyed in these four days with you.

China(中国Zhōngguó) is famous for stone forests and there are large areas where incredible(if you describe something or someone as incredible, you like them very much or are impressed by them, because they are extremely or unusually good) and strange stone structures shoot from the ground like large ancient trees. These amazing forests rarely leave tourists without a sense of wonderment and awe. It is south China which is home a majority of these amazing destinations, principally in Guangdong(广东Guǎngdōng), Guangxi(广西Guǎngxī), Guizhou, Yunnan and Hunan. Here are five of the most remarkable:

I received the notice to investigate(if someone, especially an official, investigates an event, situation, or claim, they try to find out what happened or what is the truth) the Guilin(桂林Guìlín) Landscape Golf Resort during my working in the morning. After a short preparation(preparation is the process of getting something ready for use or for a particular purpose or making arrangements for something) I started the field trip.

Classic Beijing in China
Back in Year 2007, my trip in northeastern China(中国Zhōngguó) with my University Program ended finally by the awe-inspiring(if you describe someone or something as awe-inspiring, you are emphasizing that you think that they are remarkable and amazing, although sometimes rather frightening) visit of the capital city of Beijing(北京Běijīng). Most famous Chinese city for its great historical and cultural background, Beijing was the destination that everyone was waiting for during this one-month trip. A destination full of hope and expectations that didn’t deceive us indeed at the end for its many sightseeing and great attractions.
Li River in misty rain, Guilin
Being a land with best landscape under the heaven, the Guilin(桂林Guìlín) is a city enjoying a high reputation(to have a reputation for something means to be known or remembered for it) with breathtaking sceneries along the Li River(漓江Líjiāng). Rises in the Mao’er Mountain in Xing’an County (northern border of Guilin), passes southward through Guilin and Yangshuo, the Li River is a real fairyland on earth, which is endowed with graceful karstic hills, amazing caves and little streams. With its unique beauty that goes beyond any words, the Li River is one of the most represented landscapes embodied on traditional Chinese paintings and poems. As early as Tang Dynasty (618-907), the famous poet Han Yu(韩愈Hán Yù) was fascinated by its beauty and described this fairyland to people: "the river winds like a green silk ribbon, while the hills are like jade hairpins" (江作青罗带, 山如碧玉簪).
Chinese Culture
In recent years, there are more and more Confucius Institutes being built all around the world, which shows that our Chinese culture become much more popular than ever. As one of the four ancient civilizations, China has long history and creates many splendid cultures. The ancient culture once had great influence on the world, such as Japan, South Korea and other Asian and European countries.
From the respect of school, Confucianism, Mohism, Taoism, and Legalism are the main schools created in ancient China, and they also have great influence on the Modern China and the world, especially the Confucianism. They deeply root in traditional Chinese culture and people’s daily lives.
Specially, kung fu, traditional Chinese painting, poem, opera, cooking, clothing, architecture and many other kinds of cultural forms make up the splendid Chinese culture. The kinds listed above are the typical ones which connect to each other at the same time. For example, painting, clothing and architecture has many things in common. And each kind of cultural form contains numerous intentions.
In short, Chinese culture are the accumulation of Chinese history, which makes Chinese culture colorful and prosperous. If one wants to know or study Chinese culture deeply, he or she must spend much time in it, otherwise he or she can only get the tip of an iceberg.

Screen Wall 照壁
Today let's take a brief introduction of Screen Wall. Foreign visitors may have noticed the isolated wall either outside or just inside the gate of a traditional Chinese house to shield the rooms from outsiders' view. Known as a "screen wall" in English, it is called yingbi or zhaobi in Chinese. It can be made of any material-brick, wood, stone or glazed tile.
Siheyuan 四合院
Today I'd like to make an introduction of siheyuan–the symbol of traditional building in China. Traditionally most urban Chinese used to live in quadrangles called siheyuan or "four-side enclosed courtyards." These courts, as the name implies, are formed by inward-facing houses on four sides, closed in by enclosure walls.
