每天晚上,都亲自为母亲洗涤溺器(便桶),
méiyǒu yìtiān wànɡjì érzi yīnɡjìn de zhízé
没有一天忘记儿子应尽的职责。
Huang Tingjian was a man of Fenning (today’s Xiushui, Jiangxi) in the period of the Song Dynasty. He was a famous poet and calligrapher. Although he was a high-ranking official, he attended upon his mother piously. He washed the closet stool for his mother personally every evening and never forgot his duty as a son.
