Lesson Sixty-one Online shopping is convenient!

These days, more and more people are going online to buy things, such as books, toys, music, clothing or even food. Online shopping is convenient, cheap and a real time-saver. But some people still have concerns about security when it comes to sending personal or credit card information over the Internet.

Lìli: tiān qì tài lěng le, wǒ xiăng măi yí jiàn yǔ róng fú.
丽丽： 天气太冷了，我想买一件羽绒服。
Lili: It is so cold these days. I’d like to buy a down coat.

Mài kè: wǒ yě zhèng dă suàn măi jiàn máo yī ne. zán men yì qǐ qù shāng diàn ba.
麦克： 我也正打算买件毛衣呢。咱们一起去商店吧。
Mike: I’m going to buy a sweater. Let’s go shopping together.

Lì li: wǒ xiăng zài wăng shàng gòu măi, yòu fāng biàn yòu pián yi.
丽丽： 我想在网上购买，又方便又便宜。
Lili: I’d like to do online shopping. It is convenient and cheap.

Mài kè: nǐ jué de wăng shàng gòu wù ān quán kě kào ma?
麦克：你觉得网上购物安全可靠吗？
Mike: But do you think online shopping is safe and reliable?

Lì li: měi yǒu wèn tí. wǒ yī bān dōu zài táo băo wăng shàng gòu wù.
丽丽：没有问题。我一般都在淘宝网上购物。
Lili: No problem. I usually do my online shopping on Taobao.

Mài kè: nǐ shǒu xiān xū yào zhù cè yí gè yòng hù míng ba?
麦克：你首先需要注册一个用户名吧？
Mike: You’re required to register a user name first on the Web site, aren’t you?

Lì li: shì de, nǐ hái xū yào shū rù mì mă hé yì xiē gè rén xìn xī.
丽丽：是的，你还需要输入密码和一些个人信息。
Lili: Yes, and you’re also required to select a password and provide personal information.

Mài kè: wăng shàng gòu wù tōng cháng shì yòng xìn yòng kă zhī fù ma?
麦克：网上购物通常是用信用卡支付吗？
Mike: Does online shopping usually involve paying with a credit card?

Lì li: kàn qíng kuàng. rú guǒ sòng huò shàng mén, nǐ yě kě yǐ yòng xiàn jīn zhī fù.
丽丽：看情况。如果送货上门，你也可以用现金支付。
Lili: That depends. You can pay in cash if they provide a home delivery service.

Mài kè: dāng tiān dìng huò néng dāng tiān sòng dào ma?
麦克：当天订货能当天送到吗？
Mike: Can the goods be delivered to my home on the same day I order them?

Lì li: yǒu xiē kě yǐ. yòng tè kuài zhuān dì zuì wăn bú huì chāo guò sān tiān.
丽丽：有些可以。用特快专递最晚不会超过三天。
Lili: Some can. EMS can deliver goods to customers within three days.

Mài kè: nà hái děng shén me, zái men zhè jiù shàng wăng xuăn gòu ba.
麦克：那还等什么，咱们这就上网选购吧。
