简介
Introduction:
Li Zhaodao, son of Li Sixun, lived in Emperor Ming-huang’s period, Tang Dynasty, generally referred to as General Little Li. He followed the ink and colors style of his father, with certain personal features, in his landscape painting.
The painting depicts the story when Emperor Ming-huang fled the capital and sought refuge in Szechuan during the An Lushan Rebellion. This painting is brightly colored, and its brushwork is of primitive simplicity without wrinkled strokes. Some scholars believe this is a faithful copy of an original by a Song Dynasty artist. Similar to Sailing Boats and a Riverside Mansion, this painting is in green shade, reflecting the typical features of Tang Dynasty landscape paintings.
