Earthquake 地震

Rescuers are battling frequent aftershocks(余震) and heavy rains to search for survivors(幸存者) in the rubble(瓦砾) after a 6.5-magnitude(震级) earthquake rattled southwest China’s Yunnan Province Sunday, killing at least 398 people and injuring 1,801 others. More than 12,000 houses have been toppled and 30,000 damaged in the quake zone(地震灾区). The quake has also cut(切断) traffic(交通), electricity(电路) and telecommunications(通讯) in Ludian County.

About the Capital Cities and Tombs of the Ancient Koguro Kingdom 高句丽王朝

The ancient  Koguro Kingdom(高句丽王朝Gāogōulí wángcháo), known as the Gaojuli Kingdom, was first built in 37 B.C in Han Dynasty and fell to the Silla-Tang alliance in 668 A.D. The city was sacked several times until the rise of the 19th ruler king Gwanggae to the Great, who greatly expanded Koguro’s territory and made it a formidable power in the northeast Asia. The boundary of the kingdom in its heyday even covered the whole area of present North Korea and Northeast China.
