As part of an effort to improve treatments for life-threatening illnesses, a team of scientists have created rabbits that glow in the dark.
Their efforts produced two rabbits out of a litter of eight that went from being a normal, fluffy white to glowing green in the dark. The rabbits were born at the University of Istanbul as part of a collaboration between scientists from universities in Turkey and Hawaii.
The rabbits glow to show that a genetic manipulation technique can work efficiently, though the specific color is more cosmetic than scientific. "The green is not important at all – it's just a marker to show the experiment can be done successfully," said University of Hawaii associate professor Stefan Moisyadi.
To produce the glowing effect, researchers injected jellyfish DNA into a mother rabbit's embryos. Those altered embryos were then inserted back into the mother. Similar experiments have resulted in glowing cockroaches and cats.
Eventually, the researchers hope the technique can lead to new ways to produce medicines, Moisyadi said. The rabbits are expected to have the same life span as their non-glowing counterparts, but Moisyadi said he understands people can object to this kind of experimentation involving live animals.

Top 10 landmarks in China:Summer Palace in Beijing
The Summer Palace lies in the northwestern outskirts of Beijing. It is the largest and best preserved royal garden in China. Occupying an area of 290 hectares, the park consists mainly of a hill, called Longevity Hill and a lake, Kunming Lake, with halls, towers, galleries, pavilions, bridges and islands dotted all over. Blending southern Chinese-style garden architecture with northern China's natural landscapes, the gardens are probably the best of their kind when it comes to Chinese garden architecture. In December 1998, UNESCO included the Summer Palace on its World Heritage List.
Five Restaurants in Guilin of China
C++ Address: No. 26, Lijiang Road (Building No. 1, behind the Nancheng Department Store)
This strictly speaking is not a restaurant because it doesn't sell food, but is one of the most amazing places you could visit in Guilin(桂林Guìlín). The owner from Taiwan has perfected the art of making drinks and deserts; he personally makes all the drinks himself not using powder but hand-making everything personally. Despite its small, hard-to-find location it's always packed and has earned a reputation. Though the drinks there are noticeably more expensive than your average café (10-15 Yuan) they are more than worth it.

A China zoo has been forced to apologise after it tried to pass off a dog as a lion.
Angry visitors to the People's Park in Luohe, Henan province, complained when the 'African lion' started barking.
Zoo staff said they had pretended the Tibetan mastiff was a lion because they could not afford the real thing, local media reported.
Elsewhere in the zoo, visitors found a mongrel dog in the Timber wolf's cage and another pooch posing as a leopard in the big cat enclosure. Then in the reptile house, keepers had placed two giant sea cucumbers which they were trying to pass off as snakes.
One customer called Liu said: ''They're cheats. I paid good money to see the lion and all I got to see was a dog. The zoo is absolutely cheating us. I took my son there so he could hear the different sounds animals made but when we reached the cage where the African lion was supposed to be, the big animal in there started barking.'
A spokesman for the zoo said: 'We're doing our best in tough economic times. If anyone is unhappy with our displays we will give back their money.

Hong Kong of China
After seriously injuring my knee while playing soccer in a university competition in early May and said knee not showing any sign of healing I had to go to Hong Kong(香港Xiānggǎng) to seek expert medical attention, after finding the standard of medical treatment in Guilin somewhere short of satisfactory(something that is satisfactory is acceptable to you or fulfils a particular need or purpose). It's been a long time since I've visited Hong Kong and this time it left me with a striking impression.

Fifty-four hour train journey from Guangzhou to Gansu
After seeing the doctor in Hong Kong(香港Xiānggǎng) of Chine I needed to find my way to North-west China to begin my summer holiday adventures which consist of trekking up and down the province of Gansu(甘肃Gānsù) to visit Dunhuang(敦煌Dūnhuáng), Jiayuguan, Lanzhou(兰州Lánzhōu), Wuwei and Zhangye. However, due severe budgetary constraints flying was out of the question, the only other practical means of reaching my destination was subjecting myself to the joys of rail travel.
