Tianqi 天气- Daily Mandarin Lesson

Talking about the weather is popular in any language, including Mandarin Chinese. The Mandarin word for “weather” is tiānqì, two characters which translate as “sky weather”.

The two characters in tiānqì are 天氣. The first character, tiān, means “day,” “sky,” or “heaven,” and the second character, qì, means “air,” “breath,” or “weather.”
Examples of Tianqi

    Taiwan de tiānqì hēn rè.
    Taiwan’s weather is very hot.

    Míngtiān de tiānqì zěnme yàng?
    What’s the weather going to be like tomorrow?
