喜欢 – Daily Mandarin Vocabulary Lesson

The Mandarin verb for "like" is xǐhuan. It is made up of two characters: 喜 (xǐ) and 歡 (huān). Xǐ means “to be fond of,” and huān means “joyous”, so the two characters reinforce the idea of liking something or someone.
