The Shengxiao(生肖 shēngxiào) which better known in English as the Chinese Zodiac is a scheme. It is a systematic plan of future action that relates each year to an animal and its reputed attributes, according to a 12-year mathematical cycle. These animal signs are the rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, sheep, monkey, rooster, dog and pig. The Chinese zodiac is calculated according to Chinese lunar calendar.
