Chūnqiū shíqī, Wèi wáng yǒu sān gè érzǐ, xiǎo érzǐ zhěngtiān qīfù bǎixìng. Dà chén Shí Là hěn shòu bǎixìng zūnjìng, kě tā de érzǐ Shí Hòu què zǒng hé wèi wáng de xiǎo érzǐ yìqǐ wán, yě biàn dé hěn huài.
春秋时期，卫王有三个儿子，小儿子整天欺负百姓。大臣石蜡很受百姓尊敬，可他的儿子石厚却总和卫王的小儿子一起玩，也变得很坏。During the Spring and Autumn Period, there lived an emperor named Wei, who had three sons. His youngest son was constantly bullying others. Although Shi La was a well-respected minister, his son, Shi Hou, often played with the youngest prince, and so he too soon became a bad person.
Wèi wáng qùshì hòu, tā de dà érzǐ zuò le Wèi wáng, kě xiǎo érzǐ què bǎ Wángwèi qiǎng le guòqù. Xiǎo érzǐ hé Shí Hòu yìqǐ zuò huàishì, rénmen de rìzǐ kě kǔ le, měi tiān dōu zài bàoyuàn.
卫王去世后，他的大儿子做了卫王，可小儿子却把王位抢了过去。小儿子和石厚一起做坏事，人们的日子可苦了，每天都在抱怨。When Emperor Wei died, his oldest son ascended the throne, but the youngest son soon usurped it. The people suffered and complained daily about the bad things done to them by the new Emperor and Shi Hou.
Shí Hòu xiǎng ràng fùqīn ānfǔ bǎixìng, fù qīn què ràng tāmen qù Chén guó zhǎo rén bāngmáng. Shí Hòu yǐwéi fùqīn zhēn de bāng tā, tā men gāogāo-xìngxìng de qù le Chén guó. Qíshí fùqīn zǎo jiù bǎ tā men zuò de huàishì gàosù le Chén wáng, bìng qǐng Chén wáng bǎ tāmen zhuā qǐlái. Shí Là jiào dé suī rán Shí Hòu shì zìjǐ de érzǐ, kě tā què shí zuò le huàishì, jiù bù néng wéihù tā. Hòulái, tā rěn zhù bēitòng, pài rén qù Chénguó bǎ zìjǐ de érzǐ shā le.
石厚想让父亲安抚百姓，父亲却让他们去陈国找人帮忙。石厚以为父亲真的帮他，他们高高兴兴地去了陈国。其实父亲早就把他们做的坏事告诉了陈王，并请陈王把他们抓起来。石蜡觉得虽然石厚是自己的儿子，可他确实做了坏事，就不能维护他。后来，他忍住悲痛，派人去陈国把自己的儿子杀了。Shi Hou wanted his father to help pacify the people, but his father told them to ask for help from the State of Chen instead. Shi Hou believed his father really wanted to help him, so the Emperor and he happily went to State of Chen. In reality, his father had told the Emperor Chen about their actions and asked him to imprison them. Although Shi La acknowledged Shi Hou as his son, he could not protect him from his own actions. In the end, he couldn’t dwell in sorrow, and sent someone to kill his son in the State of Chen.
