导演组亲临宝岛台湾，预赛中共产生了5名晋级选手，这些帅哥靓女们的精彩表演为我们的这届汉语大赛的预赛画上了一个大大的句号。

2012年5月28日，第五届CCTV“汉语桥”在华留学生汉语大赛北京赛区预赛圆满落幕。此次北京赛区的赛事由北京语言大学承办，共有来自22个国家的38名选手参加，最终有8位选手获得进京通行证，届时参加8月份在北京举行的电视决赛。

汉字叔叔在天津的家 “汉字叔叔”是一个美国人，但他在中国更出名。他创建了一个汉字字源网站，在上面你可以搜到几乎每一个汉字的演变过程，甲骨文、小篆、金文，繁体字、简体 字。2011年，有人把他的网站放到微博上引起广泛关注，网站的流量一度飙升了4倍多，他也因此获得了“汉字叔叔”的称号。2012年8月，因为一条求助 微博，“汉字叔叔”又火了——“他为汉字付出一切，目前贫困潦倒，加上签证到期，面临被迫离开中国的困境。他在天津，希望能找个英语教师或翻译的工作，从 而能继续在中国生活和研究汉字。
