Medog Walking Track – experience an ancient county by foot The Medog is famous as one of China's most popular walking tracks. Its undeveloped road-net protects it from disturbing from outside world. In Tibetan Medog means "hidden lotus flower". This winding Tibetan track takes about nine days to walk from Linzhi(林芝Línzhī) to 80K and takes trekkers through some of Tibet's most picturesque(a picturesque place is attractive and interesting, and has no ugly modern buildings) plateau landscape. The often erratic weather and difficult walking conditions are best suited to advanced hikers.

Taro and Sweet Potatoes: Company Trip to Lipu of China
Weather slowly cooling down as December approaches, our travel agency VisitOurChina organised a company trip to the small county of Lipu that is located to the south-west of Yangshuo, Guilin(桂林Guìlín); Lipu(荔浦Lìpǔ) is a county famed for its agriculture, in particular its Taro roots which are widely sought-after throughout Guangxi. As is so happened, the travel agency owned a large plot of land right at the heart of Lipu. We are another group to experience the rural life of Guilin this weekend. By virtue of the large network of highways that connect the province we were able to make good time in reaching our destination. Travelling in and around Guilin is always enjoyable, towering Kast peaks flank the roads while long carpets of rice-fields stretch beyond the horizon(the horizon is the line in the far distance where the sky seems to meet the land or the sea).

3 days/2nights Highlights Trip in Guilin of China
Luckily, I got the chance to be their company and made an in-depth site inspection of the attractions in Guilin(桂林guìlín) City, such as the Elephant Trunk Hill, the Seven Star Park, the Reed Flute Cave, the Dragon's Backbone Rice Terraces and the Yao and Zhuang Ethnic Tribes in Longsheng, the Li River, and the West Street in the ancient town of Yangshuo(阳朔Yángshuò). To be honest, I have lived in Guilin for almost 8 years but still feel that it is just like an emerald waiting to be explored. So here, I would like to share what we have enjoyed in these four days with you.
Five Great Stone Forests in China
China(中国Zhōngguó) is famous for stone forests and there are large areas where incredible(if you describe something or someone as incredible, you like them very much or are impressed by them, because they are extremely or unusually good) and strange stone structures shoot from the ground like large ancient trees. These amazing forests rarely leave tourists without a sense of wonderment and awe. It is south China which is home a majority of these amazing destinations, principally in Guangdong(广东Guǎngdōng), Guangxi(广西Guǎngxī), Guizhou, Yunnan and Hunan. Here are five of the most remarkable:
Doing for Guangzhou What the Olympics Did for Beijing China
With the pan-Asian sporting games heading to China(中国Zhōngguó) in Year 2010 it is the hope of the people of Guangzhou(广州Guǎngzhōu) that these games can do to their city what the Olympic did for Beijing and to a lesser extent what the 2010 World Expo has done for Shanghai(上海Shànghǎi) City. After winning the right to host the games in Year 2004 the city has been working furiously to give itself a major makeover in time to impress its major neighbours.
Fifty-four hour train journey from Guangzhou to Gansu
After seeing the doctor in Hong Kong(香港Xiānggǎng) of Chine I needed to find my way to North-west China to begin my summer holiday adventures which consist of trekking up and down the province of Gansu(甘肃Gānsù) to visit Dunhuang(敦煌Dūnhuáng), Jiayuguan, Lanzhou(兰州Lánzhōu), Wuwei and Zhangye. However, due severe budgetary constraints flying was out of the question, the only other practical means of reaching my destination was subjecting myself to the joys of rail travel.
Investigation to Tongdao: Home of Dong Minority
Invited by the Tourism Bureau of Tong Dong Minority(侗族Dòngzú) Autonomous County, Hunan Province, with great honour VisitOurChina had a chance to attend the county's official starting ceremony of Wanfoshan Mountain & Dong Village Tour. During our 2 days in Tongdao (April 26th and 27th, exactly, the tour was arranged on 27th), we have made a site investigation on the scenic spots, which deeply impress on us.
In Ningbo city
The first trip to China was supposed to start by a one week study in Zhoushan Nanhai Experimental School on the Zhoushan(舟山Zhōushān) Island, Zhejiang Province (浙江省), and my first city-stop after Shanghai Pudong Airport was the seaside city of Ningbo(宁波Níngbō) separated from Zhoushan Island by a narrow body of water. Located in northeastern Zhejiang Province, Ningbo is one of the oldest city of China for its localization on the border of the East China Sea and its past as a trading harbor.
Visit in Guangzhou
While referring Guangzhou, people like to compare it with Beijing (Peking) and Shanghai, even Hong Kong. Indeed, Guangzhou(广州Guǎngzhōu) City is one of the 3 most important cities in mainland of the China, although Guangzhou is not a municipality like Beijing and Shanghai, it also plays an irreplaceable(irreplaceable things are so special that they cannot be replaced if they are lost or destroyed) role in Pearl River Delta area. If we say Beijing is the city of ancient culture and politics, Shanghai is the city of finance, commerce, fashion and internationalism, then Guangzhou is just the city of economy and delicious food. In the mean time, Guangzhou is also a crucial transportation hub and trading port, convenient to access to Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao.
